Easy Organizing Wins
Organization does not have to be a huge undertaking all of the time. In fact, there are a few things you can do on a regular basis that not only takes very little time but helps prevent little tasks from growing into large, time consuming ones.
Make a To-Do List: At the end of every evening, I like to make a to-do list for the following day. Errands, chores, deadlines, I write it all down. This helps me clear the mental clutter from my mind and allows me to wind down for the evening.
Quick Pantry/Fridge Purge: Set aside 10-15 minutes and go through your pantry/fridge. Toss expired items and try to group the remaining items in similar categories (baking, breakfast items, etc). This gives you a fresh idea of the items that you do have, allowing for easier meal prep.
Set up a “catch-all” for mail: Designate a basket to hold all incoming mail. Choose a day of the week that will be for going through the mail that has accumulated. Pay bills immediately and either follow up on action items or toss things you don’t need. Dedicating a particular time to tackle tasks helps with mental overwhelm.
Pick up laundry::Take five minutes and gather up any laundry. Put it in a laundry basket and that’s it! You don’t even have to wash it right now if you don’t want. The act of removing visual clutter from your line of sight can make a world of difference.
Clean out your car: Cars have a pesky habit of accumulating stuff. A quick 15 minute declutter will give your car a nice refresh.
